On October 15, the classes from 1A and 1B traveled to Serra de Collserola Natural Park, where we were able to experience the beauty of this 8,000-hectare natural area as well as contribute to the health and welfare of the park. After listening to docents teach us about the importance of the area, students were part of a clean up effort to help maintain the park’s natural beauty. They worked diligently to clean drainage canals and sifted soil to remove any litter. Afterwards both classes used the experience to write narrative stories during Writer’s Workshop. Here are two examples of their reflections.
The first reflection is from Mariona
pg 1: We went in the bus and we went back on the bus and we got on the bus and we got out of the bus
pg 2: and we listened to the monitors and we got the tools and we started cleaning
pg 3: and we got on the bus.
The second featured story was written by Irene.
What a fun day!
